I swatted at
that little pest
Who dared to bother me.
Thinking,
"What a worthless bug!"
I'm sure you would
agree.
I battled it
for half an hour
Frustrated as can be.
The time I
fought with that small beast
Had seemed
eternity.
At last I
ceased to hope at all
Of getting any rest;
Mad as
heck and near to tears,
He'd put me to the
test.
Right beside my
easy chair
Sitting on a stand,
I spied my Bible,
God's good word,
And his eternal plan.
I picked it up;
began to read
Of Jesus and his power.
God
instructed on his love
For almost one whole
hour.
Putting down
God's word at last
T'was very plain to see;
God
had used that little pest
To show his word to
me!
What joy to
know that Jesus Christ,
The Lord of power and
might.
Would send his gentle love to me
In the
form of one small fly.
Now, when
irritations come:
An ache, a pain, a pest;
I
realize my Lord calls me
To fellowship and
rest.
