My
wife told me I was so full of crud that I should write it
down. I did. It got published. Who
knew?
Hello. My name
is Mark Brown, and I write under the pen name of
J-me.
Mason Bricklin, my
first work of fiction, was awarded the PublishAmerica Book of
the Week Award. It's about a sixth grader that is
smitten by Edna Roe, the prettiest girl in his
class. The book
has been well received by children,
teens, and adults alike.
Mason Bricklin is the
first of a series of books that features the smitten
sixth grader. Many adult readers state, "Mason
Bricklin reminds me of some stunts I pulled when I was a
kid."
A second book,
Slobber-Knocker, is due to be released in late 2010 or
early 2011. It also features the character, Mason
Bricklin.
A third book is
already in the works.
I was raised in a
family of twelve children. Of course, I'm the best looking.
(It's my story and I can tell it any way I want.)
My early childhood inspires most of my Mason
Bricklin stories. I use my childhood hometown of
Nickerson, Kansas, as the backdrop for the Mason Bricklin
series.
Most of my adult life
was spent working in the oilfields. I've worked on
drilling rigs in Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, the Gulf of Mexico,
and Iraq.
My oilfield
experience is the inspiration for a character I call Joe Bob
Bass. I use the oilfields of the Oklahoma and Texas
Panhandles for the backdrop for Joe Bob's tales.

I began writing
seriously when my wife of thirty-four years, Eddie, told me I
was so full of crud I should write it down. I did.
It got published. Who knew?
At the age of
twenty-three I made the two best decisions of my life. I
married my wife, Eddie, and accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord
and Savior. Eddie and
I make our home in Oklahoma.

enjoy the site. Be sure to sign up for the Free Mason Bricklin Newsletter. I
